Until now, Qobuz offered the option to download purchased albums in MP3, CD quality, or Hi-Res 24 bits up to 192 kHz, and in various formats (list available here).

New Feature: The DSD and DXD formats are now also available for purchase; these formats are not available for streaming. Don't know what these formats are and their specificities? No worries, we will explain everything!

DSD: Direct Stream Digital

Characteristics: The digitisation of sound is performed using Delta Sigma technology. Each sample is encoded on 1 bit. The sampling frequency is n x 64 times the sampling frequency of CD quality.

Available quality: 1Bit/2.8 MHz, 1Bit/5.6 MHz, 1Bit/11.2 MHz, 1Bit/22.5 MHz. Qobuz offer names: DSD64, DSD128, DSD256, DSD512.

DXD: Digital eXtreme Definition - 24 Bits/352.8 kHz

Characteristics: The digitisation of sound is performed using PCM technology. Each sample is encoded on 24 or 32 bits. The sampling frequency is 8 times higher than the sampling frequency of CD quality (352.8 kHz).

Available quality: 24 Bits/352.8 kHz. You can purchase these formats from the download store, as well as in our desktop applications and web player.

Please note that they are not available in our mobile applications, for purchase, or for streaming.

Specificities for JP Users: JP users can only download the format they purchased.

Example: As a JP user, I bought a title in 24 Bits/192 kHz, and I can therefore only download it in 24 Bits/192 kHz. For users affiliated with other stores, they will be able to download it in 24 Bits/96 kHz, CD, or MP3.
